Overview

The "Missing Link" in Minneapolis's 51-mile Grand Rounds parkway and trail system. New design released February 12, 2025. Construction segments planned in Northeast Minneapolis (Broadway Street to Kasota Avenue) and Southeast Minneapolis (Malcolm Street to East River Parkway).

Current Status

Status: Concept design phase

A new design was released on February 12, 2025. An open house was held on March 10, 2025 at The Market at Malcom Yards to gather community feedback. Project is in concept design with community input being collected.

Importance

The Grand Rounds is one of Minneapolis's signature parkway systems — a continuous 51-mile loop of trails and parkways. The "Missing Link" projects close critical gaps, creating a fully connected system for recreation and transportation.
